My Castle

Some castles are also palaces with a noble family and royal staff. Some castles are forts defending the edge of a kingdom. Some castles are outposts that protect travelers and trading caravans. Some are beautiful. Some are simply practical.

Build your castle. Master microbricks to construct your walls and towers. Give your castle a purpose. It could be a beautiful treasure house fit for a queen or king.

Exploring Morocco: Art & Architecture

With a coastline that touches both the Atlantic and Mediterranean, Morocco has a rich history to match its geography. From ancient times to the present Morocco has been influenced by the many different peoples that have called it home throughout history. Ancient Romans, indigenous Berber, Arab Muslims, and more have influenced a distinct and unique style that reflects in the art and architecture of this proud country. To better understand, build a Kasbah (walled building/home) featuring different architectural elements found throughout Morocco.

Transportation Through the Ages

Since the beginning of time, humans have been searching for faster and better methods of transportation. Beginning with boats, then wheeled transport, transportation has evolved as we grew across the globe.

Learn of the trade routes of old to those of today. Find fuel in steam-powered boats and trains. Then fly into an era of planes, cars, and buses. Finally, explore the transportation of the future.

Aerial Explorations

Please Note: This is a four day class- Mon, Tue, Wed & Fri.
We are closed, Thursday July 4th.

From the Chinese kites flown thousands of years ago to the unmanned helicopter Ingenuity stationed on Mars, mankind has far surpassed what was once thought to be possible. Spend the week recreating some of humanity’s greatest achievements for yourself and learn about the technological milestones that brought us to where we are today.

First Circuits

Humans have always recognized electricity in lightning bolts and fur that crackles when stroked. But the practical uses of electricity - circuits - have been discovered mostly from Eli Whitney's time to the present in simple experiments and creative accidents.

Track Car Physics

This week is all about experimentation. Start by building a car that can carry varying amounts of weight. How does adding or removing weight change the speed and distance the car travels? Make predictions and record your hypotheses. Can you design a car with the greatest potential energy? Let’s explore how gravity makes your car move using ramps and bridges. Try your car on different surfaces and experiment with friction. See how air resistance impacts how far your car travels. Design a floor race track and play with friends. Ask questions, make observations, test, record, and test again!
