Sculpture Circus

Summer Age Group
Barn

Sometimes an artist freezes a moment in clay, wood, or stone. But just as often, the sculptor twists limbs, stretches gestures and choreographs balance to capture action. This command of movement is much like the circus performer's mastery of his or her body. It's no wonder sculptors love the circus.

Study Calder and Klee's figures. Create performers with Sculpey features and wire bodies that balance, contort, and dance. make wooden elephants balance. Make mischievous clowns and jugglers. Create your own act. All with a wooden ring and rigging for performance and play.
