How to Photograph People

Photographing people is unlike photographing any other subject in one key way: expression is everything!

We'll talk about the ways to capture the essence of a person in a portrait. We'll discuss environmental portraits, head shots, and emotive portraits, with an emphasis on how to use the light to your advantage and how to elicit authentic expression. We'll also discuss the ways in which Smartphones are limited for portraits, and the best ways to minimize these shortcomings. Bring your camera for practice, or use one of ours.

If weather allows, we may take some portraits under the covered bridge, so wear appropriate clothing.
