Creative Writing

Over the course of the week, participants will write about important times in their lives. They will start by building one-of-a-kind shadow boxes to house significant objects that elicit stories, memories, and histories that commemorate important times in their lives. Participants will then use the objects as prompts to write memoirs, stories, and poems that they will edit, revise, and bind into a small, personalized book to accompany their shadowbox. This process will give young writers the chance to explore and experiment with themes from their past to create personalized art that can inspire them now and into the future.
