COVID Finding Balance

Summer Age Group
Younger

Balance is not something that you are taught; it’s something you learn by experiment. You were a toddler until, with lots of tries and fails, you mastered walking.

In this workshop, let your fingers create and balance, with lots of tries and fails, classic acrobats: a cat that walks a tightrope, a bird that floats on air, a clown that balances a tipped chair, jugglers that spin rings above their heads, a team of international gymnasts that can assemble an infinite variety of pyramids. As you master the art and science of each challenge, move to ever more improbable feats and join teams to attempt the spectacular. These are projects collected from around the world.

In the afternoon. Put your whole body into it. Join experiments developed to mobilize the power of cooperation to support learning. Learn to walk as an 8 legged insect. Learn to launch and catch a cloth daredevil with a blanket (inspired by a Spanish tradition.) Learn to juggle silk scarves. Join the whole group to form a ring that can lift itself up. There are traditions borrowed from around the world.
