COVID Artful Games

Summer Age Group
Younger

All games have beginnings, middles and ends: the rest is art.
Games teach design...and strategy, agility and persistence. Spend a week exploring the power of games to engage and teach.

Start each day with a dexterity game, the classic challenges that build finger skills: jacks, marbles, pickup sticks, tiddlywinks, and penny pitching.

Then design and construct a game. Start with a challenge: a carom game (like Pucket), a chase game with a spinner, a ball and skittles game, tabletop croquet. Organize your games around a story, or numbers, or colors. Work in wood to make your game durable and beautiful. Test your game by sharing it with friends.

Each afternoon, join a small group to create an elaborate miniature golf hole. By Friday, the class will have constructed a 9 hole golf course ready for play.
