Description
Immigrants brought to America traditions of crafting simple playthings out of common materials. These toys develop dexterity and inventiveness. Two toys from the catalog of clothespin classics. Connect to Colonial curriculum or the geography of play.
Parts 
Step 1 Push the long dowel into the hole in the platform. 
Step 2 Push the combined parts into the base. 
Step 3 Run one end of the wire through the counterweight block and bend it around the wood to hold it in place. 
Step 4 Run the other end of the wire through the man's waist. 
Step 5 Push it partway through the top hole to keep the sharp end out of the way. Pull the other end tight. 
Step Done Balance the man on the platform. You can alter his position by moving the counterweight below.
