Play with time. Master a Stop Watch that will be yours for the day's experiments and then to take home. So learn to use it carefully. Learn to time yourself at stacking plastic cups. (It's a game not a competition.) Construct a rubber band car to time in feet per second. Learn how and why artists learn to complete drawings in just one minute. Learn games of playing fast that have been around longer than watches: begin to master Jacks, timed by the bounce of a ball, a game that was known by the ancient Greeks.
Not every thing is about fast. Practice slow: Time yourself at balancing on one foot. Work with a group to assemble a track that stretch a marble's time rolling for more than a minute.
The goal of the day: take time to make time your friend.
